Our first Valentine's Day together was last year and lets just say...
It was a disaster.
I have come to find out that Richard does not plan things.
Thanks to Bob, Richard's dad, the only dates
that Richard thinks he needs to remember are:
1. His birthday (March 29)
2. My birthday (December 27)
3. Our anniversary (May 10)
Every other holiday doesn't matter.
...I completely disagree with this idea...
So, last year on Valentine's Day he didn't do anything.
I told him that everyone in the world knows to AT LEAST
get their girlfriend flowers on Valentine's Day.
Apparently him and his father are the exception to that.
Luckily, Richard learned from last year and
decided to make this year... well... perfect.
Perfect for me, that is.
He started with breakfast which included
gluten, dairy, and soy free pancakes.
They were surprisingly delicious.
For our night, we started off at City Creek
by grabbing a "Holiday Cider" from Blue Lemon.
...If you haven't tried this delicious treat, I highly recommend it...
Since it can be hard for me to find places to eat out,
Richard did some research and found a little
hole in the wall up in Midway that makes gluten-free pizza!
This meant so much to me, because I know how hard it is
to find places that I can eat at AND actually taste good.
Right across the street were the Midway Ice Castles.
I have been wanting to see them for the longest time,
and this was the perfect opportunity to do so.
...I may have been singing FROZEN songs throughout our stay...
The heart for Valentine's Day was a bit cheesy;
Richard felt like we were at prom.
We then headed to Annelise's and watched AUSTENLAND.
I LOVE this movie! I laughed hysterically in the theaters
and couldn't wait for it to come out on video
so Richard could watch it.
The reason this Valentine's Day was perfect for me,
was because I knew how much thought Richard put into it.
He knew how much it meant to me, and made it a wonderful day.
But the best part is that Richard is kind to me every day
and never saves his kindness for one specific day.
That is why I love him.
