Our Love For Disney...

One of the things I love most about Richard
is his love for Disneyland.
I don't think I could have married someone
who didn't love Disney as much as I do.
Some people say it is childish,
but it is the child within us
that never wants to grow up.

When Walt opened Disneyland,
his purpose was to have a place where
families can be together.

On the opening day of Disneyland,
Walt stood in his apartment,
above the fire station on Main Street,
and looked out the window to see the
crowds pour through the gates.
Sharon Baird, a mouseketeer, said this:

I was standing next to him at the window,
watching the guests come through the gates.
When I looked up at him, he had his hands behind his back,
a grin from ear to ear, and I could see a lump in his throat
and a tear streaming down his cheek. He had realized his dream.

As Walt welcomed the guests
and recited his first speech, he said:

To all who come to this happy place, welcome.
Disneyland is your land.

The purpose Walt had for his dream
has always stuck with me.
So many of my favorite memories with my family
are held in Disneyland.

A year ago, Richard and I decided to
purchase annual passes to Disneyland.
We were ecstatic!!
We had a year of so many fun times
spent with our families.

..Luckily our families love Disneyland
as much as we do..

Since our annual passes would expire,
we decided to take one last trip to Disneyland.
Of course we will still go in the future,
but this may be our last time in a while.

There is only one person that is a bigger
Disney fan than I am, and that is my mom.
So of course she came with us to share in the joy!

This trip was so wonderful.
Since it was our last stay,
it was even more special.
I did tear up a couple of times
thinking of not being able to
come any time we wanted.

This is our last picture in the park before we left.
I mean, who wouldn't want to spend their time
in the Happiest Place on Earth?

Disney always knows best.
