Colorblind..

When I was little, my friend told me
her dad was colorblind.
She said the only color
he could see was yellow.
That just so happened to be her favorite color.

So until I met Richard, I thought
that colorblind people saw
the world in black and white.
And maybe get lucky to also see the color yellow.

When Richard first told me
he was colorblind, I thought it was just
a figure of speech..

I found out the hard way that he wasn't lying when
I trusted him with the color of our home.

The day we were to pick the color of our home,
I was working, so I told Richard I wanted the color
of our home to be CHARCOAL.

For those of you who don't know
what color charcoal is, here is what I wanted...

Seemed simple enough, right?
Well, when they painted the house,
it was definitely NOT charcoal.
I may have stressed a little bit
thinking they had messed up on our home!
So I asked Richard what happened,
and he had just picked a color
 that he thought looked good.
And it wasn't charcoal.

The other day we drove by a home
that was green, and he said,
"We should paint our bench that gray color!"
...
So on Sunday at dinner, he took a
colorblind test.
I never fully realized how color blind
Richard was until he took this test..

When he saw this image, he said 6...
I gave him another chance, and he said 21...

This image is a little bit harder, but
on the test it was more vivid.
He took a look at it and had no idea.
Completely stumped.

If you are having a hard time seeing what I see,
you should probably take the test too..

My favorite part about this is
I love Richard even more because of it.
He is more unique,
and it makes me smile.
He says he sees everything the same.
Maybe this is why he is nice to everyone.
